Walter
Campbell
Take a
trip down memory lane with Canadian artist Walter Campbell.
His nostalgic watercolours bring back to mind the days of
our forefathers, a simpler time, a time of leisurely modes
of transportation, of horses and buggies or horses and
sleighs, a time when skating meant lacing up and twirling in
the fresh air on a frozen outdoor pond, a time when the
family would gather on the lawn after church on a sunlit
summer’s day for a game of croquet…A time not so much
different than the times shared by families today. The era
might be different, but the feelings are the same; and these
emotions are evoked by Walter Campbell in his dry brush
original paintings depicting family occasions then and now.
These are
the subjects of Walter Campbell’s painting which have been
warming our hearts for almost three decades. Each piece has
a striking Victorian structure as its focal point. Turn of
the century costumes and sleighs complete the fantasy. Each
piece is lovingly crafted in intricate detail and a rainbow
of colours. The original images are transformed into
limited edition and signature series prints for the
collector’s enjoyment.
Walter
Campbell currently resides in Niagara-on-the-Lake.
